Turn on Low Power Mode

Turn off Background App Refresh for Select Apps
Background App Refresh allows applications to use data and battery power to keep up to date while you are not actively using them.
Turn off Location Services (GPS)
GPS location services can consume a lot of power. If you are not using GPS you can turn it off to extend your battery life. Please note you will to need to turn this setting back on to use GPS Maps navigation or other location services.

If you continue to have trouble with your battery life after trying these suggestions you should contact Apple for Battery Replacement service.
If your phone shuts down without warning, or if your battery life has become unacceptable you will need to arrange for battery replacement service through Apple.
