What should I do if my screen is zoomed or my icons are large and distorted?

iOS has accessibility settings that enable people who have trouble with or are unable to use their iPhone with the default settings to use their iPhone more effectively.

If your screen is zoomed in, most likely the Zoom accessibility feature has been activated.

  • Double tap the screen with three (3) fingers.


Did the screen return to normal?

Yes - Consider turning off Zoom if you don't plan to use it.

  1. From the main screen, tap the "Settings" icon.
  2. Tap "General."
  3. Tap "Accessibility."
  4. Tap "Zoom."
  5. Tap the "Zoom" slider to turn it OFF.


No - Restart your phone.

  • iPhone models without a HOME button: Press and hold the POWER and VOLUME DOWN keys simultaneously for 10–15 seconds, or until the device turns off completely.
    iPhone models with a HOME button: Press and hold the POWER and HOME keys simultaneously for 10–15 seconds, or until the device turns off completely.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then press and hold the POWER key again for 5 seconds or until the device turns back on. Swipe right to unlock the screen.
