How do I transfer data from my old phone?

You can transfer content from your old device, such as your photos, contacts, music, and calendar events to your new Galaxy device by using the "Smart Switch" app. You will first need to download the "Smart Switch" app from Samsung's "Galaxy Store" to be able to transfer your data. To download the app follow these steps:

1. From the main screen, tap the "Galaxy Store" icon.
   • Note: If prompted to agree to the terms and conditions, tap "I have read and agree to all the terms and conditions above." Tap "Start."
2. Tap the "Search" icon at the top of the screen. Using your keypad enter smart switch into the search field.
3. Tap the "Search" icon on the keypad.
4. Tap "Samsung Smart Switch." Then, tap "Install." The "Smart Switch" app will be installed and a shortcut to the app will be created.

To transfer your data follow these steps:

1. From the main screen of each device, slide the screen up.
2. Locate and tap the "Smart Switch" icon.
   • If necessary, tap "Allow" or "Agree."
3. On your previous Samsung phone, tap "Send data."
4. On your new Galaxy phone, tap "Receive data."
5. Tap "Cable" or "Wireless" as your connection method on both devices.
6. On your old Samsung phone, tap the content you would like to transfer. Then, tap the "Send" icon.
7. On your new Galaxy, tap "Receive" to accept the transfer.
8. Once the transfer is complete, tap "DONE" on each device.
