How do I make and receive video calls?

The "Duo" app from Google allows you to place both video and voice calls to your Contacts. You can also make calls to your Google Home device once you connect it to your Duo account. For step-by-step instructions on setting up your Duo account, click here.

To place a call, follow these steps:

  1. From the main screen, tap the "Google" folder.
  2. Tap the "Duo" icon.
  3. Tap the name of a Contact you would like to call.
    • Note: To select your Google Home device, tap "Call Home" at the top of your Contacts list.
  4. Tap the "Video call" or "Voice call" icon to place your call.
  5. To end the call, tap the "End call" icon.

To answer a Google Duo call, simply slide the "Answer" icon up. If you would like to decline the call, slide the "Answer" icon down.

You can make audio and video changes during a call with the following icons:

  • Bluetooth: Tap to switch between the microphone/speaker on your phone and a paired Bluetooth device.
  • Switch camera: Tap to toggle between the front- and rear-facing cameras.
  • Mute: Tap to mute/unmute your microphone/speaker or Bluetooth device.
