How do I perform a Hard Reset on my device?

Please note that a hard reset will erase all the data stored on your phone. To perform a hard reset of your device, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off your device.
  2. Press and hold the DOWN volume and PWR / LOCK keys simultaneously.
  3. Release both keys when the Samsung logo appears.
  4. “Android Recovery” will display at the top of the screen. Press the DOWN volume key to go to "Wipe data / factory reset". Press the PWR/LOCK key to select this option.
  5. Press the DOWN volume key to go to "Factory data reset". Then, press the PWR/LOCK key to select this option.
  6. When the content is removed, “Reboot system now” will be selected. Press the PWR/LOCK key to reboot your device. The setup screen will be displayed.
