To protect your files, you can set up and use Secure Folder for an extra layer of protection. Secure Folder comes pre-installed on your Galaxy and is based on the My Knox security platform, creating an encrypted, private space on your phone to keep your valuable and personal information secure.
Please note that you will need to add or create a Samsung account to set up and use this feature.
- From the main screen, slide the screen up.
- Locate and tap the "Settings" icon.
- Locate and tap "Security and privacy."
- Locate and tap "Secure Folder." A welcome message will display. Tap “Continue.”
- If you have not signed in to your Samsung account, you will be prompted to do so. Enter your Samsung account credentials. Then, follow the prompts to access your account.
- The Samsung Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice will display. Tap “Agree” to continue.
- Note: A message will display with the option to set up “Samsung Pass” to sign in. Tap “Cancel” or “Get started.”
- Tap “Continue” as needed. You will be prompted to select a pattern, PIN, or password for your Secure Folder. After selecting your preferred lock option, you may be prompted to confirm your selection. When finished, tap “Next” or “Continue.”
- A message will display prompting you to “Reset your lock using your Samsung account” in case you forget your lock option. Tap “Cancel” or “Activate” to continue. If necessary, tap “OK.”
- The Secure Folder screen will display. Tap the "+” icon to add apps or tap the “Menu” icon, indicated by three vertical dots, to add files and adjust your settings. Follow the prompts to complete the process.
