What do I do if I lost my phone number used on my Samsung Account?

A Samsung Account is a personal account for Samsung device owners to enhance their account security by having a multi factor authentication. Authentication codes are sent to the registered phone number on your Samsung Account.

If you lose the phone number registered to your Samsung Account and can no longer gain access to your text message authentication codes you can:

1. Try to use an old Samsung device that use to be linked to your Samsung Account. If you are able to loggin to your Samsung Account from there, you should change your Samsung Account phone number, to your new number by doing the following:

  • Tap "Settings."
  • Locate and tap "Accounts and backup."
  • Tap "Manage Accounts."
  • Tap your Samsung Account.
  • Tap "My profile."
  • Tap "Security and privacy."
  • Tap "Two-step verification." Then, tap "Text message."
  • Tap "Add," and type in your new number. Then, click on the three dots to delete your old number.

Note: If you do not have access to an old Samsung device that use to be linked to your Samsung Account, then you will need to create a new Samsung account and keep a record of your contact number that is registered.
